The concept for this series came from my desire to communicate my personal opinion on various aspects of organized religion and on faith in general. Religion is a tool to control the thoughts and actions of believers, an excuse for decades of abuse toward women and children, and a mindset to indoctrinate children into a culture that demonizes the simple act of questioning authority and tradition.
Religion has permeated our country’s politics and media in such a way that it has become the primary influence for many people for what information they accept, for whom they vote for President, etc. For me, religious extremism has achieved a horrifying level of acceptance among Americans, and this project is my way of expressing these concerns.
